What is an Impressum and Why is it Needed?
Impressum is information field for ownership and authorship which is at the bottom of the page. It is also called Imprint or Legal Disclosure. This a mandatory page in some European countries such as Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. However, an imprint is not an obligation for each website. For example, if a company based in the USA and operates a German-language website and the target group is based in Germany, the imprint must be in German. If your target group is not in Germany, it is not a must to have it in German. Because the audience of the webpage is English speakers, and the imprint will be in English.
The Impressum includes company full name, address of the head office, contact e-mail, VAT-ID and some other legal information. From them e-Mail and website must be clickable and linking to homepage. There are already Impressum templates which can also be found in Google.
